Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist 2019
The Catholic Parish of St Augustine, Yass, invites children baptised in our tradition, Year 3 or older, to continue their journey in faith by preparing for the Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation) in preparation for their First Holy Communion (Eucharist). We offer a Parish-based, family-centred and school-supported Sacramental Program, which is inclusive of all families and encourages family conversations, structured around four sessions of prayer, reflection and activity undertaken by the parents or carers and the child.
If you believe your child is ready to take this next step and you are prepared to be involved in the journey, you need to complete the Enrolment Form which will register your child for both sacraments and attend registration at the presbytery (behind the Lovat chapel):
Wednesday 6th March between 5-6 pm or Thursday 7th March between 5-6 pm
We need to see your child’s baptismal certificate if they were baptised outside St Augustine’s Parish. Please bring the baptismal certificate to the registration meeting so we can take a copy for parish records. An administration fee of $30 ($10 Reconciliation and $20 First Eucharist) is requested when enrolling in the sacraments.
Commitment to the Reconciliation program will be held during 6 pm Mass, Saturday 9th March at St Augustine’s Yass or 10.30am Mass, Sunday 10th March at Uniting Church Hall, Murrumbateman.
The children will make their First Reconciliation on Wednesday 10th April at 6pm in St Augustine’s Church.
