Thoughts from the presbytery – 14 October

Next Wednesday, 17th October, I invite people to gather at the Hartigan Centre at 7:30pm, to discuss issues you would like presented at the Plenary Council 2020.  Parishes from the Northern Deanery  will meet in Goulburn next Lent and present a broader view of the concerns of the Catholic communities in our region.  At our gathering this coming week, Paul Trezise has agreed to be the facilitator.  As mentioned last week, a little research before the gathering would be helpful.

I hope that your Parish Pastoral Council is able to meet the following week to put together a survey to be presented to all interested people, especially those who no longer associate with our communities.

After three years, Yass/Gunning Belun is registered by the Department of Justice in Timor Leste as “Assosiasaun Yass Gunning Belun’.  According to their regulations, we have had to build an extension onto our office in Tasitulo to separate  our projects from those using the premises as accommodation.  Up to thirty people live at our office, mainly students studying in Dili and our workers at the pottery factory.  It is also the residence of Jose de Costa and his family.

We welcome Margaret Jenkinson and Kath Luchetti as members of the Yass/Gunning Belun committee.
