Thoughts from the presbytery – 18 November

The four days on retreat at Galong gave me great hope for the future of our Archdiocese.  Due to the influx of priests from other countries, we have a very young and vibrant clergy with a missionary spirit.  Yass/Gunning will be my last appointment and I intend taking one year at a time, until you tell me you  would like a change.  When I retire, Yass will be my base until I’m laid to rest in the lawn cemetery.

Just a reminder to all parishioners to complete the survey to help us address the issues you see as important for the Plenary Council 2020.

In two weeks we enter the season of Advent as we begin preparation for Christmas.  The Mass times will be the same as last year, with the exception of Wee Jasper, and I hope there will be a visiting priest for Murrumbateman.  Before we start buying gifts, might I suggest we think about the poorest people in our world and contribute to our work in Timor Leste or through Caritas www.globalgifts.org.au.
