Easter thoughts from the Presbytery

CHRIST IS RISEN, HE IS TRULY RISEN.  This awesome truth we proclaim to the world in desperate need of the risen presence of Christ, Lord and Saviour.  He has overcome the power of Satan that we might share His life.  May the blessings of this glorious season be extended to all in our community.

During my absence from the parish, it would be helpful if acolytes volunteered to conduct a Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday.  If you are prepared to offer your services, please let Peter Cleary, Sr. Macrina or Sr. Aileen know as soon as possible.  Fr. Greg Beath and Fr. Bernie Patterson will supply in the next month and I am most grateful to them.

As you are aware, two weeks of my annual leave I will be working in Timor Leste.  Besides supplying clean water to another village, I will oversee our work in the clinic and organizing the building project for the blind.  The generosity of our communities is simply amazing.  In these past two weeks, we have received donations of $4,000, $2,000, $3,500, $1,000, $300 and $1,150.  We have sent $59,000 to our Timor account in the past five months and have $12,000 in our CDF account for our work.  On behalf of the poorest of the poor in our region, many thanks for your extraordinary generosity.

Until the 24th May, care for each other and say a prayer for me as I work on your behalf to bring about a better world.
