Thoughts from the presbytery – 24 May

To all parishioners who gave me the opportunity to take a break from pastoral duties, I am truly grateful. A special thanks to Fr. Greg Beath for supplying during my absence.

My first two weeks were spent in Timor Leste to oversee our projects and ascertain priorities for the future. There are many things which are disappointing, as I see indications of the country going backwards, however, there are many good things happening which give me hope for the future of the
Timorese. Besides our clinics operating at full capacity, there is now a food program for school children insuring they have a good meal at least once a day. I will give a more detailed report in the next few weeks.
