Thoughts from the presbytery – 13 December

  • I felt very proud of the significant number of altar servers who received awards, especially for leadership, at the Mount Carmel presentation evening. The school has had a good year and as a community we should be grateful to Michael, Jan and all members of staff for their commitment to the students.  Amber leads a dedicated Community Council, an essential body for the running of the school.
  • The Year 6 Graduation Mass will be held this Tuesday 17th December, at 9:45am. Those who will be attending Yass High next year are reminded that the Minister’s Fraternal support Jess, a scripture teacher, for Years 7 and 8.
  • Peter, Lauren and Cathy Cleary have assembled the crib in St. Augustine’s, just in case you might think it miraculously appeared. Thanks!
  • Those who use envelopes for our Sacrificial Planned Giving program, please collect at the entrance to the church. Without the generous support of contributors, our mission would cease.  There are two generations who seem unaware of our dependence on the support of active parishioners.
  • On behalf of the poor in Timor Leste, I acknowledge a $500 donation for our work.
  • A reminder to the members of our Finance Committee and Parish Pastoral Council, an end of year gathering will be held this Wednesday, 6:30pm, at the Hartigan Centre.
