On Sunday 16 July 1876, the Feast Day of Our Lady of Mt Carmel, the Foundation Stone for the Convent of Mercy was blessed and laid. That means that on Mt Carmel Day this year we will be celebrating 150 years of Our Lady’s patronage of our school. Because Mt Carmel Day falls in the coming school holidays, we will be marking the occasion on students’ last day of Term 2, Thursday 2 July, with a special Mass at 9:30am followed by a morning tea. We recognise that there are many parishioners who are alumni of Mt Carmel School and may be interested in joining us to celebrate this milestone.
