Thoughts from the presbytery – 7 June

In two weeks, on the solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), young parishioners from both Yass and Gunning will receive their first Holy Communion.  Besides the Vigil Mass in Yass, there will be Mass in Gunning on the Sunday at 8:15am and Yass at 10am.  The following Sunday is the fifth Sunday, but due to the disruption of times for our celebration of first Holy Communion, Wee Jasper will miss out and the usual times for Yass, Gunning and Murrumbateman will apply.

St. Augustine’s Parish Pastoral Council met this week and reports, including the results of the survey dealing with the role of women in our communities, will be available on our website.

As a result of his extended visits to Timor Leste, Graeme Hocking has connected three more villages to clean water.  In the past two months we have received some generous donations for our work, including $20,000, $1,500 and $1,000, plus those who contribute on a regular basis.  Through your generosity lives are changed.
