Thoughts from the presbytery – 8 November

I am extremely proud of those involved with the Book Fair last weekend.  There were 36 parishioners and 8 from YRAR who spent hours setting up and packing up.  It was a mammoth exercise, coordinated by Debbie Valencic.  What are the benefits?  A great community builder, people meeting and getting to know each other, involving…

Thoughts from the presbytery – 11 October

At St Augustine’s PPC meeting held this week, Paul O’Mara explained to members how collections are distributed and the financial status of the parish. It became clear to me that many parishioners are unsure as to what happens with collections. Perhaps we should have an open session for all interested parishioners to counter misunderstandings. Reports…

Thoughts from the presbytery – 4 October

Thirty-five women gathered last Saturday for the ‘Circle of Sisters’. To comply with health regulations, we have needed a large dishwasher for the Hartigan Centre kitchen.  This week we received $2,000 from the Soldier’s Club to purchase a dishwasher.  I am grateful to the Soldier’s Club and Lourdes O’Keefe who sought this community grant, as…
